Are reversed cards a bad omen?
Upside down is not the same as unlucky. A reversal is the card whispering instead of speaking.
No, love. A reversed card is not a curse turned on its head. When I see one land upside down, I feel the energy of that card turned inward — blocked, delayed, still forming, or asking to be looked at privately.
Take the Sun reversed. It isn't sadness. It is joy that hasn't been let all the way out yet — maybe because you don't quite believe you're allowed it. Or the Five of Cups reversed: grief that is finally starting to lift.
When a reading comes up full of reversals, I don't read doom. I read a season of inner work. Something is being processed beneath the surface before it can show up in the world.
If reversals stress you out, you're allowed to read upright only. The cards will find another way to say what needs saying. They always do.
